“A striking modern facility that will attract and retain new volunteers for generations to come.”

This new Fire Station serves two very important roles. The first is to provide a highly effective facility for the dispatching of the vehicles and the training of the firefighters. The second is to help strengthen the community of firefighters by creating an outstanding new building that will attract future generations of volunteers.
The Station has five bays for storage of the vehicles along with a large engineered concrete apron which can be used for maintenance in good weather. Radiant heat floors in the Apparatus Bay provides a heated surface for drying out the firefighters gear after a fire as well as saving energy. Skylights, a heavily insulated roof, and natural ventilation will keep the space comfortable in warmer weather.
Amenities are critical to attracting and retaining the best young volunteers from the surrounding towns. The new facilities include a Member’s Lounge, a study area for college age volunteers, a gym and full sized kitchen for frequent company events and meals.
The 10 acre site has a significant slope, allowing the Station to be set into the hillside with the large Multipurpose Room opening out to outdoor event space at the upper level. The dramatic rooflines serve to make this a memorable building and a desirable place to spend a rewarding career as a volunteer firefighter.
